Illustration Friday: Secret

I just finished the book "Beatrice and Virgil" by Yann Martel.  Its not as good at "Life of Pi"  but parts of it really sucked me in and disturbed me.

I chose it for this week's illustration friday because one of the main characters had a very big and disturbing secret that involved the holocaust.  The man was a very gaunt taxidermist, Beatrice was a donkey and Virgil was a howler monkey.

I like the soft fur on the donkey ears and the coarse hair texture on the monkey and their relative weights. It's expressive and captivating. My first reaction was, book cover. I would buy a book with this cover on it.
